About the library: Our home library has about 3,000 books at any given time. We are
longtime readers and book nuts and have turned that obsession into a career, as we own Old Saratoga Books in Schuylerville, New York, USA, a used and rare bookstore.

We love all kinds of books, but particularly love books about natural history, books about books, historical mysteries, jazz books, and fiction by Michael Ondaatje, George Macdonald Fraser, Sarah Bird, Charles Dickens, Russell Banks, Robertson Davies, Patrick O’Brian and Ian Rankin.

This photo shows our library in a rare state of being orderly and neat. Usually there are more piles of things around and messes from our two kids, two cats and one fuzzy St. Bernard-mix dog.

About the library: This is my formal library right at the entrance of my home. It has plenty of shelves and an L shape with 3 station desk areas for my kids which I home school. I love the wood color with the black contrast. However this is one of three I have in my home. I have one in my bedroom and another in my private office.

About the library: I have posted my own library first, when I started this blog. This as a sort of “You show me yours, I’ll show you mine”. It seemed fair. I said that I would turn my library around, and so I have. I did not have the time to take pictures, but now I finally did. The biggest change is that my shelves are now on either side of the walls, because I had to add one. This was the only way to make room. I like the room better now there is more symmetry.

The top has my partner’s altar and her collection of witch dolls.

About the library: This is my own library. I moved in May and decided to buy an extra large bookcase to hold all my books and the books I will buy in the future. The bookcase is the main feature of my livingroom and I hope that in the future the whole thing will be full of my precious books.

About the library: One of seven book and show-cases. The shelfs are a mirror of my interests. Besides a part of the book collection, fossils, minerals, sculptures – the large one is Plato(on) – and ancient artefacts can be seen on the picture. It is not a home library, but a very pleasant way to life among books.

About the library: This is three of the seven shelfs that I currently have stuffed in this room. (I’m gonna have to get another one making it a total of eight, and hubby isn’t too happy about that). I read everything! I have fiction, mystery, thriller, chick lit, and biography just to name a few genre’s. Right now I have over 900 books on my shelfs, and I only keep the books that I know I’ll re-read.
